Set of used vintage German featherbed/eiderdown and goose feather pillow for single bed

We have two sets of these used vintage German featherbeds/eiderdowns made of red “Inlett” with matching large square down feather pillows. As you may know, even if couples share a double or queen-size bed in Germany, they each have their own featherbeds or Steppdecken.  This way you don’t have to fight your partner for the bed covers during the night.  Inlett is the German word for ticking and it is a heavy, very densely woven cotton fabric, traditionally red in color, as shown here, to hold in the feathers.  These eiderdowns are NOT quilted. They are loose goosedown feathers in one big envelope, all sewn up on four sides like a feather pillow and are circa 72” x 54”, and will keep you toasty on a cold winter’s night.

The matching pillows are circa 30” square and we have many pillow shams to fit these pillows, just not yet listed.  The eiderdowns can be slipped into a duvet or be covered by a bed cover of your choice. Matelasse comes to mind. They are perfect for kids’ beds or on matching beds in a guest room, particularly for a cottage/farmhouse or shabby chic look.  They are in good condition for their age (mid-century?) with a bit of discoloration here and there.

I grew up with one of these in Germany in the 50's and 60's in an unheated bedroom in the dead of winter. I'd go to bed with a hot water bottle to get all toasty under the covers and then kick the bottle out of the bed. It frequently was frozen in the morning when I woke up.
